Passenger vehicles are not allowed on the island. Must use ferry service or personal boat to gain access to Grand Island. Ferry service is located on the west side of downtown Munising just off Highway M-28. Once on Grand Island, cabins can be accessed by hiking or biking. Sunset cabin is located on the West Rim Trail approximately 3.6 miles from the island ferry landing.
