Three Lakes Campground is a peaceful, quiet camp tucked out of the way from the busy highway among red pine, white pine, white spruce, and sugar maple trees. It is 2 miles south of M-28 at Strongs Corner, on FR-3142. Although the campground is on Walker Lake, it is actually nestled between three lakes: Whitmarsh, Brown, and Walker Lakes. Three Lakes Campground is located approximately 38 miles west of Sault Ste. Marie.

There are 28 camping sites, all easily accessible to the lake. No reservations are accepted. Campsites are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Tables and fire rings are at each site. Drinking water and toilets are conveniently located.

A picnic area with water, tables, grills, and toilets is located on the lake, across from the campgrounds. Along FR-3142 is a ball field available for games.

Although there is no specific beach for swimming, there are sandy areas along the water. Please remember that there are no lifeguards on duty. Any swimming is at your own risk.

The Walker Lake Loop Trail takes off from the picnic area and goes around the lake. This is a nice easy one-mile walk along the lake on sandy beaches and through forested areas. Listen for the song of a bird, the woeful cry of a loon, or the splash of a fish breaking water in the lake. You might see a sandhill crane in flight. The setting sun, sinking behind the tall spires of the pines, can be very beautiful.

A carry-in boat access is located at the picnic area. No motors are allowed. Perch are the principle fish caught in the 19-acre Walker Lake. Whitmarsh Lake, on the west side of the road, has crappie, perch, bullhead, pike, and bass.

There are several grocery and supply stores as well as restaurants in the area. Strongs is located 2 miles north and Trout Lake is 9 miles south of the campground.

Three Lakes Campground is a concession operated fee area. Golden Age and Golden Access Passports are accepted.

A campground host is present during the summer months. Feel free to ask the campground host for the times and locations of recreation events in the area. Besides the activities planned in the local communities, he/she can also offer you guidance and direction to other interesting places to visit.
