Description

With the fall of Petersburg, General Robert E. Lee retreated across southside Virginia, surrendering at Appomattox Court House. In 1865, historic homes, small villages and rolling meadows awaited the passing Confederate and Union Armies. Today, you can retreat into this important part of American history...where the nation was reunited.
