Grand Rapids Population: 197,800
  Grand Rapids is the second largest city in Michigan, with a population of nearly 190,000 residents. With a very diverse community, many ethnic groups, ranging from Dutch, Hispanic, African-American and Polish, call this city home. Grand Rapids is home to several colleges and universities, including Aquinas College, Calvin College, Ferris State University and Davenport University. In historic Heritage Hill, an old Grand Rapids neighborhood, visitors can be led through the Victorian houses on display or go on a walking tour of the district.
     
Huron National Forest
  Huron National Forest is a popular destination for cross-country skiers, backpackers, hunters, and fisherman. The forest is complete with a visitor’s center, camping sites, trails, and wildlife areas. The Au Sable River flows through the forest and is full of trout, salmon, bass, walleye and steelhead. The River Road Scenic Byway runs for 22 miles along the southern bank of the river.
     
Midland Population: 41,685
  Midland is a small to medium size city with a population of 41,000 residents. The Dow Chemical Company plays an important role in the culture of the city, as it has contributed to much of its economy and its attractions over the years. There is the H. H. Dow Historical Museum, Dow Gardens, the Alden Dow Home and Studio, and of course, Dow Chemical whose plants are available for guided tours. Home to several colleges and universities, Midland has a student friendly atmosphere.
     
Muskegon Population: 40,105
  Muskegon is one of the largest shore communities along Lake Michigan in western Michigan, with a population of 40,000 residents. Muskegon is a tourist destination for its state parks, beaches and large historic homes left behind from the lumber giants..Muskegon has an art museum with works by Edward Hopper and Picasso’s mistress, Francoise Gilot.
     
Traverse City Population: 14,532
  Traverse City is a small town of around 30,000 residents; however the summer months increase the population ten fold. Surrounded by water, Traverse City is a popular draw for water enthusiasts, as boats and jet skis decorate the waters of the bay throughout the summer. In the downtown area, shops, galleries and restaurants line main drag on Front Street. Other streets offer antiquing and art purveying, and a farmers market on Saturdays provides the usual regional produce fare.
