Flint Population: 124,943
  Flint is the epitome of a blue collar town, with much of the area’s economy a result of General Motors plants. As the third largest city in Michigan, Flint has approximately 125,000 residents. Flint is home to several colleges and museums. Kettering University, Baker College and a satellite branch of the University of Michigan are all located in Flint. Flint has several art galleries, a planetarium with multimedia and laser shows, and the For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum.
     
Frankenmuth Population: 4,838
  A little Bavarian community, Frankenmuth is one of the state’s top tourist attractions. Nearly 3 million visitors pass through this small town each year, with its old world German feel and the best chicken dinners in the state (country?). Frankenmuth has the largest Christmas store in the world, and features two miles of Bavarian specialty shops.
     
Huron National Forest
  Huron National Forest is a popular destination for cross-country skiers, backpackers, hunters, and fisherman. The forest is complete with a visitor’s center, camping sites, trails, and wildlife areas. The Au Sable River flows through the forest and is full of trout, salmon, bass, walleye and steelhead. The River Road Scenic Byway runs for 22 miles along the southern bank of the river.
     
Midland Population: 41,685
  Midland is a small to medium size city with a population of 41,000 residents. The Dow Chemical Company plays an important role in the culture of the city, as it has contributed to much of its economy and its attractions over the years. There is the H. H. Dow Historical Museum, Dow Gardens, the Alden Dow Home and Studio, and of course, Dow Chemical whose plants are available for guided tours. Home to several colleges and universities, Midland has a student friendly atmosphere.
